I have to admit this place is just another chain with nothing really special. The food is fine, but nothing here makes me go "OH MY GOD!" I suppose heir potatoes are the best thing I have had there. A large potato covered in all kinds of creative toppings

Ate at McAlister's Deli for the first time today. Nice lunch spot. Menu features sandwiches, soups, salads, and humongous baked potatoes. You order at the front and take a seat with a number sign so they can bring your food over to you when it is ready. They clear your table for you. In a cute touch, you can get a red/green card on your table to indicate if you want service or to be left alone (similar to how they are used at a Brazilian steak house, except not all you can eat). This was handy since we were there for a working lunch. I had half a roast beef Panini with the potato soup. The soup was a touch thick for my taste, but the flavors were good and it wasn't too salty (recent problem I've been having with potato soup). The soup was better than Bennigans, but not as good as Corner Bakery's. The Panini was fine, not great, but fine. My companion had the half Savannah salad with the half veggie potato. The veggie potato comes smothered in cheese, so if you are trying to be good with a veggie potato, ask them to go easy on the cheese. The pizza flats being served to the tables next to us looked great. I'll be trying one of those on my next visit. The atmosphere and price are on par with Panera or Corner Bakery.

McAlester's came onto the scene a few years ago in Fort Wayne, and judging from the crowd, things seem to be going well for them at this location next to the Jefferson Pointe shopping center. I had the Turkey Reuben, which is always nicely done. They also have no problems here with preparing a half sweet/half un-sweet tea, which causes many fast food workers to do a 'deer in the headlight'.

Was my first time eating here a few months ago and have to say it was pretty good. I got the club which was pretty decent in size, the Mac and cheese which tasted like it was generic and nasty as well as applesauce which tasted like normal applesauce. The service was friendly and I would love to go back a try some other things on there menu.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Club w/ potato salad & Huge Root Beer. How about the free server service you get here? Refills & clean up just part of the deal here. The only negative is this place can be packed inside & out at times but I understand.

Ordered a Southwest Cobb salad - it was big on portion size and even bigger on taste. Cost me $7. The friendly service made the visit. The gent who took my order, Anthony, was very friendly and polite. It was busy in the restaurant, but he still took a minute to be personable and make small talk with me. Kudos. #PEOPLEfirst

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The Savannah Chopped Salad is the best! We also had the Bacon Spud and that's just fantastic! My husband said that they have probably one of the best french dips ever!

This is a decent sandwich/lunch place in Fort Wayne. I am disappointed though that during two different times I've ordered takeout, I opened the box to find everything in a mess (they don't wrap the sandwiches in the box, so everything gets all messy).

I have been to this location on many occasions and have witnessed them 'losing' orders. Today was by far the worst. First off, it took their staff far too long to realize that our order was delayed. We did finally ask about our order and the staff replied that they were trying to 'locate' it. A short while later a manager came over to our table to take our order. When he finally served our food, it was served with a mumbled apology. There was no offer of a coupon or anything to make up for the delay and missed order. The food is mediocre at best; hardly good enough to make up for the terrible service! How sad that all they had to do was offer a complimentary side item to make us happy. Now they have lost us as customers forever.

I went out to lunch (again) as this is my week to blow my diet :) Decided to try McAlisters Deli. Everytime I pass this location, it looks swamped, so I went early, about 11:30. I was surprised to learn that they open at 7:00 and now have breakfast items - hmmmmm - might have to check that out. There were only a few people in line ahead of me. I ordered the "Big Nasty" (without the cheese), 'cause it is close to a beef manhatten and you KNOW how I feel about those :-) I also ordered the mashed potatoes as my side. Actually, I cannot understand WHY this sandwhich would come with melted cheese - just doesn't sound appetizing to me. ANYWAY, I am glad I went to my mom's house to eat this instead of my desk. I had to put this sandwich on a real plate, as it was soooo big and sooooo messy. Since I got carry-out, they nicely (and wisely) put the gravy in seperate container instead of putting on top of the sandwich. This is definately a knife and fork meal. It was good, and the gravy was good, but OH MY, THAT GRAVY IS SPICEY HOT!!! My mouth was burning, so assure that you have a drink nearby. I would have enjoyed the meal more if the gravy wasn't so spicey, and I probably won't get it again, but the menu is large and I'd like to go back to try a potato and see what they do for breakfast.

My husband and I are addicted to this place. Maybe because it's summer, and we tend to crave fresh foods such as salads. And McAlister's definitely delivers that! Love their savannah chopped salad! Their giant spuds are indeed GIANT! I ordered a full salad and a full spud because I wanted leftover for lunch the next day, well, the spud was so big, my whole dinner that night was half the spud. Didnt have room for salad or anything! We typically get the choose any two deal they have. The nice thing about this option is that you can choose from ANY of the sandwhiches, salads, spuds. Unlike the similar, but pricier, Panera Bread, which their pick two is only for the simple sandwhiches and salads, and costs extra for the fancier ones. I really love McAlisters. I heard a couple people rave about it before it came to town, and am glad that I went there. The only negative I have is that when they first opened, the sweet tea wasn't consistent. I don't like tea that is unsweetened, and their sweet tea just wasn't sweet enough. But I keep getting it, and it has gotten better, maybe it was just because they had just opened. I definitely recommend this place!
